Not many companies offer a solar shingle. This could be a market segment to make solar a no-brainer for residential and commercial solar.

Eligibility

Full Description

The shingle should accommodate many different roof styles for residential and commercial installations. The solar cells should be affordably and durably integrated into a wide variety of roofing materials (see links below). The design of the solar roofing materials should lend itself aesthetically pleasing; from street or sidewalk view, the appearance of solar should be minimized/eliminated.

Submissions may include up to 5 links to research literature that provides background and relevant patents. Such links can be to a website article, a Wikipedia page or for National Lab IP, https://www.labpartnering.org/lab-technologies. It is the Prize Administrator’s hope that the quality of literature referenced in the submissions will factor into voting results.
