ENCASE

ENCASE (Environmental Non-invasive Cladding and Autonomous Sensing of Enclosures) is a team comprised of experts in the fields of robotics, manufacturing, design technology, architecture, and mechanical, structural and facade engineering. We are addressing the E-ROBOT challenge by developing a comprehensive retrofit solution consisting of a unitized facade panel system which is installed over the existing facade, forming a new super-insulated shell around the building. Integrated within the shell is a high-performance HVAC system that will dramatically reduce energy consumption and emissions while improving thermal comfort and indoor air quality for building occupants. Robotics and advanced manufacturing techniques are incorporated throughout the project life-cycle to minimize costs and installation time while improving quality and scalability.
