Local Power

The Local Power Community Solar Initiative seeks to develop community solar on warehouses in Red Hook, Brooklyn and throughout New York City while developing an ownership and governance structure that maximizes local benefit. Through public engagement, collective/local ownership structures, and an equitable business model, it embodies Red Hook’s post-Super Storm Sandy community vision for climate adaptation and a low-carbon future. Benefits to low-and-moderate income residents lie at the heart of this plan.
