Low Carbon Communities KC

Community Capital Fund is a support mechanism for innovative opportunities in LMI neighborhoods in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area to leverage community resources. Kansas City is home to many innovative entrepreneurs as well as clean energy resources. By engaging the east asian minority owned firm Dynamhex and its decarbonization-as-a-service (DaaS) technology to deploy innovation through data driven decisions at the neighborhood level the Low Carbon Communities project will impact climate change. The project will test how this innovative team of actionable and digital climate action planning in the Kansas City region will build trust, and strengthen relationships and partnerships with disadvantaged communities. This pilot will showcase action through engagement and accessibility of new low-carbon products and services in historically disadvantaged places. Emissions reduction solutions should be more broadly accessible because the solutions today are out of reach for most disadvantaged communities - the proposed visualization project will leverage the Community Capital Fund’s neighborhood experiences and increase climate action scale and impact.
