Online yoga and meditation classes with a broad range of different classes for different needs, from movement to meditation, for any level.
3. Opportunity: Which pillar of well-being, and which aspect of that particular pillar, are being addressed by the idea? In what way does it influence a pillar? What type of individual and community would benefit from the idea?
This addresses the body, mind and community. This program would guide an at-home yoga practice for anyone in the general yoga community, delivering a sequence of poses, while offering different types of yoga and meditation classes from core-strengthening vinyasa, restorative yin yoga, breath work and meditation, gentle beginners yoga, all-bodies yoga, and chair yoga. As inspirational and philosophical themes and meditations would also be included, wellness of the mind is also incorporated.
4. Innovation: Why is your idea unique, novel, and/or impactful? What will the future look like if we’re successful in bringing your idea to life? How does the proposed solution differ from existing solutions addressing human well-being?
What makes this idea unique to other online programs is the specialization of online all-bodies and chair yoga classes. As not everyone has the time or local resource of attending yoga studio classes, many rely on online programs to practice yoga from home. Particularly, those whom may not have a physical ability to leave their home, such as through physical disabilities and limitations, can benefit from the resource of all-bodies yoga and chair yoga classes from home.
5. Action Plan: Please justify and briefly describe the major steps needed to make this idea a reality. Does the technology and understanding exist now? Is it likely to exist in the next 3-5 years?
The curriculum and staff of teachers available to provide pre-recorded yoga classes is already available. Filming equipment and a platform to offer these online classes would be needed in order to move forward with this idea. As yoga becomes utilized by more of the population, including those with limited mobility or physical disabilities, the demand for such a program would increase over time.
