WHAT DOES IT DO?
The goal of the solution is to visualize spatio-temporal time series imagery in user-defined Region of Interest (ROI), as well as to analyse changes with the dataset. Users are able to choose any areas they are interested in by simply drawing a polygon, so that they have access to a set of spatio-temporal time series images within the polygon. And the set of time series images, which integrate advantages of not only high spatial resolution but also high temporal resolution, can be produced by fusing multi-source remotely sensed images.
HOW DOES YOUR SMART M.APP SOLVE WORLD PROBLEMS?
With the time series images, which can be directly acquired from the high temporal resolution satellites, or from the fusion of high temporal and high spatial resolution imagery data, we hope to visualize the temporal changes within user-defined ROI. Firstly, this solution enables users to draw area of interest (polygons) of their own. Secondly, the mean values of different parameters, such as Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), at different time within any polygons can be calculated, and the temporal variations and dynamic properties of the time series images can be visualized and analyzed. We can investigate the seasonality of satellite time-series data and their relationship with dynamic properties of vegetation, such as phenology, temporal change, plant disease and disturbance detections in an interactive and user friendly manner.
