My breath becomes my closest friend in those desperate moments when my mind is so confused I can’t think and pain is weighing me down. I go into my breath and my body. It’s the only way I can get through because it takes some of the focus away from my thoughts which is usually what’s hurting me in the first place. Eventually I come out of it whether it’s an hour, day, week, or months later and through that somehow I am closer to myself and in that I feel like I can trust myself more and more and that gives me hope 💖
