A pretty brazen comment came out of CNN political commentator Jeffrey Lord, recently. This Washington Post article gives you the full scope of his comment regarding fact-checking, in which he said this:

Well, there's some food for thought. One might go as far to interpret that statement to imply that people in America don't care about the authenticity of statements nearly as much as how the statements make them feel.

Thankfully, we know better than one high-profile opinion.

The phenomenon that Lord is witnessing is much more likely the result of people accepting the reality that so much fictionalization (or biased reporting) affects the information they consume. It may well be that their concern about preventing or circumnavigating so many half-truths has begun to wane.

But that's what we're all about -- changing the way people consume media in a way that will allow the flow of authenticated information to naturally rise to top. This is important work, folks!
