Steve has been awarded 22 US patents and several WIPO patents. Steve is presently working on the development and marketing of his latest patent, as well as, product development for others. Recent products include: Steric Systems, Scratchbuster Disc Repair kiosk, FlipbooKit, Chess2Go, light-up skateboards and scooters, electronic locks, novelty water fountains, interactive iPod docks, custom interactive signage and others. Steve has independently invented and licensed consumer security products, toys and novelties, which were successfully marketed worldwide by such retailers as Radio Shack, The Sharper Image and Costco, as well as other international distributors. In 1990, Steve was invited to join the R&D team at Walt Disney Imagineering where he headed the Advanced Technology Research (ATR) group. At ATR Steve and his group would research, verify, enhance, or modify new technologies, and when necessary, even invent a new technology to fulfill a specific requirement for use within the Disney theme parks. It was this group who, in 1995, would be among the founding members of Sony Development. In 1995, Steve, along with other select Imagineers, left Walt Disney Imagineering to start a new division within Sony Corporation of America: Sony Development. Steve's responsibilities at Sony as Chief Technologist included discovering and inventing new technologies and products that help make Sony's urban entertainment the benchmark for all other entertainment centers. One of Steve’s hobbies –Tesla Coils (high-voltage artificial lightning generator)-- has earned him film credits in several major motion pictures. Steve and his partner in lightning, Mark Barton, provided the “lightning effects” for the Terminator movies, Free Jack, Ghost Story and several other productions.
