Seapower are a company involved in wave energy R&D since the company formed in 2008. Our WEC (MHK) device and seawater pumping technology are patented internationally. Energy is converted directly to pressurized seawater for use with standard RO equipment. We first tank tested with an onboard seawater pump in 2012, and carried out successful sea trials in 2016 in a realistic and harsh ocean environment at larger scale. In 2016-2017 our device operated autonomously at sea for 155 days as planned. We see the wave to water competition as a way to develop a micro version of the unit (with lead partners MarkZero) and bring the Freshwater Seapower Platform (FSPP) into niche markets in the USA and globally.
