I am a Young Ugandan Youth leader, aged 29, Very passionate about changing lives through agriculture, by inspiring Youth, who comprise the world’s biggest percentage of the total population to undertake Agriculture in a bid to eliminate unemployment, create avenues for income generation and end hunger across the globe.I am an Agripreneur, CEO of Enkumbi Agriprises, Banker, Accountant, and founder of Youth Agriculturalists Fraternity-YAFRA, a Youth founded NGO based in Uganda, formed with a key aim of promoting Agriculture among the youth and other community members by supporting youth groups engaged in Agriculture as well as inspiring all youth to undertake Agriculture as their main source of employment and income, in a bid to fight youth unemployment, poverty and foster food security, to eliminate hunger in Africa as well as in the world. Also engaged in tree planting through YAFRA’s initiative of #PlantATree, in a bid to combat the effects of climate change. I have vast experience in Accounting, Banking, ICT, Communication, Management and Leadership. I have received various awards for my leadership in various institutions. Having been born from a remote village to parents who never received formal education but still toiled so hard to educate us with funds generated from agriculture, we never missed a meal everyday, had enough food all season, i decided to undertake the same sector. I have benefited a lot from agriculture as compared to my full time corporate job. I therefore decided to form YAFRA so that i can share my success story with my fellow youth and inspire them to engage in agriculture to end hunger and poverty on the continent. Masereka is the Head of Games and Sports at Diamond Trust Bank-Uganda, i am also a member of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Network and am currently working towards achieving the goals of YALI.
