Trial sales in Kenya and South Africa. Type of feed or feed ingredients currently produced: The larvae perform the first process in our operation, turning one hundred tonnes per day of organic food waste, delivered from local companies, into a loamy soil enhancer, MagSoil™. Each day we harvest and separate the mature larvae from the MagSoil™ and set to work sterilising, processing and preparing the larvae into the world’s most sustainable and natural animal protein MagMeal™ for use in agricultural feed preparations. The harvested larvae are washed and quickly dried. MagOil™ is separated and our different larvae protein cakes are blended and bagged into either 20kg bags one tonne sacks ready for delivery to our customers. Creating new ingredients or feeds for F3 Challenge or scaling existing products? Creating new ingredients and scaling existing production. Registered for F3 alone? Yes. Press contact: Jason Drew, Jason@agriprotein.com, +27 83 700 5255 Other information: AgriProtein is spearheading the new industry of nutrient recycling to make sustainable and natural protein by mimicking nature and using insect based technology. Re-purposing and re-using old plastics and glass is commonplace, but little progress has been made in eliminating organics from landfills. This is crucial when considering the considerable environmental impact. Not only does the company provide an innovative and less expensive method for reducing waste in landfills by 35,000 m 3 per year for each factory, but the organic waste is processed into an animal feed, oil, and organic fertiliser. The AgriProtein process allows for organic waste to be turned into valuable and sustainable products to replace fishmeal as a natural source of protein in industrial farming operations with a hugely positive environmental impact. We hope to change the attitude toward protein sourcing and organic waste in an industry that is rapidly running out of resources.
