Vicki Gelling
Fellow at Sherwin Williams
Dr. Gelling joined Industry in early 2014, first as at Technical Director in General Industrial in Valspar. After the acquisition of Valspar by Sherwin Williams in June of 2017, she began her current role as a Fellow in the Performance Coatings Group. Prior to her time in Industry, she held multiple positions 13 years on the faculty at North Dakota State University in the Department of Coatings and Polymeric Materials. Her terminal position at the university was as an tenured Associate Professor, focusing on the use of electrochemical methods to understand corrosion processes and coating degradation mechanisms.
Dr. Gelling gained a B.S. in Chemistry at the University of North Dakota in 1996 and then completed a doctorate in Chemistry at North Dakota State University in 2001. In her career in the coatings and corrosion field, she has authored over 75 papers and proceedings as well as presenting over 100 presentations.
