Hi Innovators!

We’re thrilled to invite you to join the U.S. Department of Energy, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), and Nation of Makers for the 2020 Nation of Makers Conference (NOMCON) learning sessions on geothermal and additive manufacturing in support of the Energy Department’s American-Made Geothermal Manufacturing Prize!

This year’s virtual conference will take place June 3-6. New to NOMCON this year is a focus on geothermal energy and the role additive manufacturing can play within the geothermal industry. Through several learning sessions and a teaming workshop, Nation of Makers and other industry experts will come together to discuss opportunities for growth and partnership among the geothermal and additive manufacturing communities.

Please join the Energy Department, NREL, Nation of Makers, and other industry guests for the following sessions:

Geothermal 101: Pulling Energy from the Earth

Thursday, June 4, 2 p.m. ET

This panel will discuss how geothermal power is generated with an emphasis on how advanced manufacturing can address challenges in this sector.

Industrial Additive Manufacturing 101: Creating Solutions from the Bottom Up
Thursday, June 4, 3 p.m. ET

This panel will discuss the latest technology in additive manufacturing with an emphasis on how it can be leveraged to lower the cost of geothermal energy production.

Identifying Opportunities and Geothermal Prize Teaming
Thursday, June 4, 4 p.m. ET

This workshop will connect interested innovators with experts from the geothermal and advanced manufacturing communities. Attendees will collaborate and discuss ideas for solutions to submit to the American-Made Geothermal Manufacturing Prize.

You can register for any of these sessions here.

The Geothermal prize sessions are free of charge for anyone who would like to join. However we also encourage you to participate in the broader NOMCON virtual conference, which aims to spark and increase connections across sectors, generate robust collaborations, set a research agenda for the U.S. maker movement, and promote the growth of an inclusive maker community. Tickets to NOMCON are available here.
