Join us as we host thousands of the world's most ambitious collegiate rocketeers in a one-of-a-kind event. Part academic conference and part design-build-fly style competition, the Spaceport America Cup has something to offer students, faculty, industry representatives, and amateur aerospace aficionados alike.

The future beckons.
How will you answer the call?

Whether you are an academic, an industry representative, a retired professional, or simply a passionate amateur supportive of young minds who seek new horizons... there are many ways you may become a part of an event impacting the future of aerospace...

As a Sponsor...

You could interact with over 1,700 university STEM students from top ranked universities and colleges in a professional and competitive setting. Not only can your organization interact with them face to face but you can also learn about how their aerospace hardware performs in real world conditions. Finally, you will help make possible an event which inspires the best possible candidates for your company!

As a Volunteer...

You will join a highly motivated and talented ESRA team which brings together the thousands of moving pieces to build the world's largest collegiate rocket engineering conference and competition. From directing crowds to directing launches and everything in between, we need you at the Spaceport America Cup!

As a Judge...

You will join a group of respected experts and professionals who interact with the student teams to evaluate and score the deliverables, including technical design documents, overall team performance and launch success.  This team determines who will receive the coveted Genesis Trophy as the Overall Winner of the Spaceport America Cup.

As a Student...

You will demonstrate your hard work on an international stage, in front of thousands of your peers, professors, and prospective employers. You will engage in design-build-fly style rocket and payload engineering competitions in a professional setting, at world class facilities, where the sky is not the limit!

KUDOS to Duke University for being the 1st team to submit their PRE-REGISTRATION forms

May 4, 2024, 9:42 a.m. PDT by ESRA Executive Director

We’d like to thank all of the teams who have already submitted their pre-registration forms on HeroX. Shoutout to Team 25, Duke University, for being the first entry this year, keep up the good work! So far, all but one team has chosen the earliest time-slot (9-11am) as their number one pick, so if your team is interested in the earliest start time, make sure to submit as soon as possible to receive your preference!

Another note, upon checking the earliest submissions, we realized that the excel document on our website was outdated, this sheet was missing the column for ethnicity data which ESRA requires this year. This will not affect the placement of teams who have already submitted, I will email those teams individually to gather the information. For those who have not submitted yet, please check if you have the most updated document and transfer your information to it if necessary.

It has also been brought to our attention that there was an issue purchasing non-attending rocketeer tickets on our website, this issue has been resolved, so your team will be able to purchase those tickets now if desired.

Thank you all for your patience and hard work during these changes to SAC, we hope to make this competition the best one yet!

Pre Registration Process that will help reduce or ELIMINATE the long lines on Monday during Registration

April 28, 2024, 11:26 a.m. PDT by ESRA Executive Director

Hello everyone,

This year, in our efforts to improve the Spaceport America Cup, we will be implementing a new HeroX form as a part of our registration process.  This Pre-Registration form will allow us to gather the information normally gathered on Registration day ahead of time to make lines run smoother and faster. Standing out in the heat last year was terrible and ESRA hopes that it never happens again.

In this form, teams will be asked for student information, Tripoli cards, waivers, and preferred start times. This is explained in more detail in the video that has been released with the registration form and its associated documents. These materials are linked within the form.

Please watch this video at your earliest convenience. And get started collecting the items needed ASAP.  We understand that this is a new process that will take some time to complete.  The form will be open for submission from today until May 10th. Early teams will be rewarded with their preferred start times as explained in the video. If students attending competition are swapped out after submittal or you have any questions please email .

Thank you all, we look forward to seeing you on registration day!

Sierra Stockwell
